Today I walked into a local Sprint Store and asked one of the Sprint reps what kind of accessories they have available for the EVO LTE.

While he went to the back to check for them, another Sprint employee asked if I already have the EVO LTE. I said yes and I bust it out of my pocket. She held it and said "Wow, this is niiice!"

Another Sprint employee saw her holding my phone and said "Is that the EVO 4G LTE??" And all 6 Sprint employees, along with bunch of other customers, were crowding around trying to get a close look at my phone. I unlocked the phone for them via Face Unlock and when they saw the screen, everyone were just blown away. There were a lot of "ooh's" and "aah's" and I heard bunch of people behind commenting how slim it is and how great the screen looks.

I let a few of them hold it and swipe through the home screens.

One female Sprint employee said "I heard you can surf the web and talk on the phone at the same time. Is that true?" I said "Yeah, I've done it a few times now."

Another Sprint employee said "I don't believe it. You were probably on wi-fi!" I said "No, it was all 3G."

The guy said "Prove it! Make sure wi-fi is off and call me right now."

So I showed everyone that wi-fi is off and then called the guy's cell phone number. When he answered it, I put him on speakerphone so everyone can hear that the call is still connected.

Then I asked, "Where do you want me to go?" One said go to Amazon.com and search for "HTC EVO". So I did that. Amazon.com came up, the HTC EVO results came up, I then selected few random accessories and went through multiple pages of customer reviews. While I was navigating around the website, the guy was still talking through the speakerphone.

The female employee yelled out to the other guy "I told you so!!" And the guy responded through the speakerphone, "I'm a believer now. I gotta get this phone." Everyone busted out laughing. :D

After the show was over, I heard a few customers asking the Sprint reps "Can I get the phone he has?"

Haha! Just thought I'd share my funny experience at the Sprint Store today. :)

i had essentially the same experience yesterday when i went to buy the car dock, but there were only 2 employees in the store.

fun, isn't it?

:)

Here's mine I posted in another thread :

Went in to an Authorized Sprint store to meet with a guy I was selling my EVO 3d to and I pulled out my EVO LTE the workers jaws dropped. They asked how I got it since it hadn't been released yet. I explained, then I proceeded to demo the phone to them. I noticed one of the guys was salivating, so I asked him if he wanted to check it out. He light up and was jumping for joy, he then thanked me and gave me a free gel case for the trouble :D So that's what I'm sporting now!

From my long awaited and totally worth it EVO LTE!

I was that girl yesterday too. The employees were so excited to see the EVO LTE. But it is sad that the stores don't have models of Sprint's current flagship phone to play with.

Had same experience. Idk why they didn't market the phone as being able to use voice and data at the same time. This is the first sprint phone I had capable of doing it.

Haha! So now you have two free gel cases from Sprint? Niiice! :)

Although funny it is also sad as they don't have any in their stores. :'(

It's definitely sad. When I heard the customer tell the Sprint rep "I want the phone he has." He responded "Sorry, unfortunately no Sprint Stores have them and we don't know when we're going to get them."

I don't understand how a Sprint employee have zero information about their own phone.

They must really be left in the dark about this one. When I called to get mine activated yesterday, the guy asked me to remove the battery and read him the numbers underneath. I just let out a sigh and explained that it was sealed. He didn't believe me. lol

Haha! Well, I'm sure you figured out that the information he was looking for was under the glossy cover (which you COULD remove). Anyway, I find it amazing that people that sell phones for a living can be so out of the loop on products that their company plans to sell.

If I were a CSR for a cell company I'd be all over the web reading sites like Android Central, iMore, Crackberry, etc. so that I would have a clue about my product line. It's a shame that we board members know more about this phone than the people that are going to sell it.

I guess that all depends on a person's work ethic.

It would be like going car shopping and the sales guys don't know anything about the cars I'm test driving, but that never happens...wait, bad example.

I had a similar experience at Radio Shack. I walked into the store and asked if they had any accessories for the Evo 4G LTE. He said they did, but weren't selling them until the phone was released from customs. I told him that it had been released and was on sale for preorders. He was actually starting to argue the point with me when I pulled the phone out of my pocket. His jaw dropped and he asked me how I was able to get one. I told Hume that Best Buy had gotten their preorders in on Thursday and began sellinging them to the preorders. Several people gathered around while I showed of the screen and features of the phone. :D

OK guys, stop with the in store demos. The last thing we need is more people crowding the network. My speeds are slow enough now lol ;)

We all seen to have similar situations. I have not gone to a Sprint store yet but when I picked mine up from Bestbuy the girl who activated it was amazed and kept asking me a lot of questions.

I of course know everything there is to know about the phone. Then other customers who where in line waiting to get theirs activated started asking me questions.

And finally all the iPhone fans at work had their jaws drop when they saw this screen and how awesome ICS is. All in all this is the best phone I've had so far to date.

And this is coming from a guy who had: The Instinct, Palm Pre, The EVO, The EVO 3D & now The EVO 4G LTE!

That is most company owned cell phone stores. Too many people in those places seem more interested in shooting the crap over serving customers.

Happened to me!

They didn't have the case I wanted but the rep was like "let me see your phone" ... I give her a moment and then I go to where she walked and she's showing like 3 other reps the phone and they're all "ooohs" and "ahhhs".

Hahaha! I felt special :D
