Future owner w/ stupid hardware question...

Is the headphone jack just that, or does it also include mic functionality? Specifically, does anyone know if the Square Reader will work with this tablet?

I was video chatting through GTalk this morning using a wired BlackBerry headset with an inline microphone so the jack definitely supports microphones...not sure on the app you mentioned though
