FYI - HTC Commuter Case is in stock

Thats a nice case, I ordered the extended case that has the kickstand. If i didnt want a kickstand I would buy this! Its the same price.....

I ordered the Defender from Otterbox.com on Black Friday.
Can you believe it's STILL NOT here? It's supposed to be here on the 7th. I've been using the phone like it was a precious antique, touching it ever so gently and using a lint-free cloth to wipe every single millimeter off after use.
Anyway, please, DO NOT opt for the "FedEx Smartpost" option. It's the slowest piece of crap in existence. Literally 2 weeks after you order is when you'll expect the shipment. Ridiculous.

I order a carbon (?) skin and a screen protector from Skinomi on the 24th and I'm still waiting. :(

How much did it cost you Dovahkiin if you dont mind me asking?

It cost $35, with $3 shipping.
The Black Friday deal included a free gift, which it didn't state on the order. But the receipt I got said "Otterbox Water Bottle", so I'm assuming this water bottle will be indestructible.

Well worth the wait ... total protection and functionality. It is a tad bulky but I've never owned a smartphone so over time I'm sure I'll get use to it.
As far as the shipping goes, FedEx smartpost could be delivered by the postal service unless they elect to exclusively use FedEx.
I'll bet the company is bombarded with orders.:-\

thats a sweet design on this OB.. Its a shame i absolutely have to use the extended battery for my phone:(

I checked the Otterbox site everyday since I got my Rezound, it always said the Commuter case was out of stock, until Black Friday.
I'm assuming everyone and their mom ordered one at that point, so I'm ok with waiting.
The problem is Smartpost itself. On The Consumerist, there's not 1 single good story about using this service, so I'm gonna go ahead and lay the blame on Otterbox for using this craptacular shipping method. Regular USPS would've been faster.

i ordered it before i posted this. got ground. it was only a dollar more than smartpost that clearly says it can take forever to ship.

do the ground dude!

I got my commuter case today.
It fits perfectly, and I love the fact that it has a soft gel "case", followed by a hardshell that wraps around the back and the sides as well. (You can use the soft gel by itself, but the outer hardshell HAS to be combined with the soft gel.)
For those wondering, it says in some places that this Otterbox case has a "built in screen protector." It does not. It comes with one of those regular screen film-like protectors. This one is much smoother and clearer than some of the other brands I've seen, however.

Overall, good investment of $35.
My one complaint is that it the black, soft gel areas attract lint like a magnet.
