G Power

Just got the G7 power after getting 5 years out of my G3, needless to say the difference is night and day. Big screen, long battery life, fast cpu, lots of memory, all for under $200. Very happy with it right now. A case is a must though, because the phone is VERY slippery unlike my old G3 which had a grippy rubber-like rear cover. Hope it lasts as long as my G3 did.

lI bought the unlocked Moto G Power a month after launch. It's my 3rd Moto phone. I started with an iPhone, then an HTC and a Samsung Galaxy. When it broke I got a Moto E series as an emergency to replace the Galaxy until I could afford a new one. I was so impressed with the Moto E that I bought a Moto G6 Play and finally the G Power. It's my daily driver and does everything I need it to do beautifully. I can't believe I wasted so much money on flagship phones. I love my G Power.

What screen protectors if any are you folks using? I bought a tempered one that doesn't have the front camera cut out , it's bang on average but seems a little short on the sides and top and bottom.
The one I bought from Amazon usa was called Ailun. Also the case I got was a ghosteck, it's nice but the curvature around the sides makes it less easy to grip since the sides have a somewhat triangular shape, resulting in less surface area of contact with fingers or hand.

I hada samsung a50. The only thing I didn't like about it was it had 2 sets of apps as I like to use google apps and couldn't delete samsung. I carried it in my back pocket and managed to break it.

I bought the G power to replace it. I have had many motos in the past. I do like it but I found I could get a pixel 4a5g for like 230 off trading in my pixel 2. They'd only give like 40 off the reg. 4a so I got the 5g one. I like the screen on the pixel and the camera. I will use the moto g power as a backup. Works great but I do like the screen on the pixel. I like that the moto and pixel are both plain android. I don't care for having to have 2 sets of apps like on samsung or lg.

I almost got a 4a, don't need 5G as it's not here yet. Know it's a nice phone.

I love the Moto G7 Play I got this year, the only good thing I got in 2020 in fact. I use it mainly for playing games when I get board of myself for company. It's the best mobile gaming platform on Android devices and yes, I have tried them all. Great graphics, no lag, always doing exactly what it's supposed to be doing. Moto G7 Play..Best of 2020!!

Recently purchased a Moto G Power to replace my Moto X4. So far the phone is great. Stereo speakers and headphones revert to mono randomly and the camera and photo app can be laggy but otherwise performance is solid. The only serious gripe I've got with it is its soft screen - I got major scratches after 3 days. My last two Motos (X4 and X2) went two years each without any scratches or screen protectors.
Sorry it sounds like I don't like the phone but I do. The battery is awesome and the picture quality Impresses people who don't recognize what model phone it is.

The wife and I both got the G Power a few months ago after reading overwhelmingly positive reviews about it, and we both found ourselves switching back to our old phones pretty quickly. IMHO the only plus this phone has going for it is the battery life, and even that did not live up to claims. Otherwise, it's totally mediocre, even for a budget phone. I found it to be sluggish and laggy - this is right out of the box. I guess I was spoiled by my Blue Vivo XI+, which beats the pants off the G Power across the board as far as I'm concerned (it was even comparable in battery life when it was new). I don't need fancy features, customizations or bloatware, just a solid device that performs.

If any G Power fans are interested in picking up a basically unused one at a low cost, hit me up cuz I have two.

Same here bought one yesterday, made a few tweaks as I couldn't handle the gesture gap on the bottom of the screen.
I really like this phone , just a few gripes , no dual or parallel app support natively and also the earpiece device volume is lower than any other device I've ever owned. Battery life is out of this world.
Loses about 1% drain overnight during a 8 hour period. Have many apps that are battery hogs installed as well, Facebook, messenger, WhatsApp, three google accounts , telegram etc

The gesture feature was one of the things my son disabled after he got the G Power 64/4. It's easily and a as powerful as my Note 5 was, but it's a lot more powerful than the Samsung J2 Core 2018 he was using. I also have a J2 Core but it's the 2019 version, which is still being updated, but it is definitely NOT a power user's phone. I still use my deactived Note 9 as my working device.

The only issue I've had is the top speaker will stop working on occasion. I have to reboot to fix it. anyone else have that problem?

I just got the Moto G Stylus as an early Christmas present to myself but also because the battery in my now old Moto G5 Plus was beginning to degrade and it was beginning to sputter in some places. This is the fourth G phone that through the years I've owned and after watching several reviews on YouTube and doing some reading I feel it's a good buy. I'll likely rarely if ever use the stylus or for that matter the multiple cameras but rather I purchased this device for the clean install of Android (no bloatware or crapware) and the gobs of internal memory at 4/128 gigabytes with SD card support coming from a device that had only internal memory of 2/32 gigabytes (good for the time) with SD card support. Coming from the Moto G5 Plus which itself was a great phone at the time of release I'll just say the Stylus a dramatic but not bad change.

Hey John, feel the same way that you do. I've never owned a flagship level phone but I'm sure many do buying into the hype that they need to spend SO much on a device when they really won't ever push it to its limits and warrant the expense. I've had three Moto G phones through the years and just purchased and received my fourth this month. They've each done everything I've asked of them at the time flawlessly and it's a much more rewarding experience when you consider an average to lite user like myself didn't spend flagship level money to get it. Many people just don't think about what they intend to really do with a phone so they over buy...

Wow...still with a Moto G3... I've got my original Moto G1 in a box somewhere. Really need to take the battery out of it before it corrodes and leaks...

Two sets of apps on a device are the worst! Between two Moto Gs I had I briefly had an LG Stylo (the first edition). It had apps that LG wanted you to use and then of course you bring your own apps when you set the device up. I ended up with two note taking apps, two dialer apps, two photo apps, two texting apps and of course LG won't let you delete theirs. Had to disable everything that I could and even that was hit and miss. This was back when eight gigs could be found in a phone and I learned two lessons - One, don't buy LG or any other manufacturer that forces their apps on you. As quick as they released the G4 I went back to the clean install of Moto. Two, don't buy a phone with less than (at the time) thirty-two gigs as I hit eight gigs on the LG really quick... I learned future proofing was not just a term but something to really think about...

Battery life is amazing. Used over two days with over 4.5 hours of screen on time and it's just consumed 38% battery.

They are great phones for the price.

They can be great phones for the price, but they can also be nightmares for the price. Moto's quality control and updates can be very spotty :-\

I've been noticing when using the ear piece calling someone I can barely hear it ringing but when they answer its fine.
