Jeez, but I assume that's due to there being pretty much 1 person on the HSPA+ network? Impressive though, hurry up UPS!!!

for once being a first adopter will be an advantage not a disadvantage as ur getting pretty much an entire bandwith section to yourself. I wonder how long that will last though and what speeds will be like when theres lots o HSPA+ phones on Tmobile. Got quite a few months before that happens though, so enjoy.

Combine this HSPA+ speed, and the processor speed test... this device is moving up on my chart for a November upgrade. :)

..bu, bu, but how? Is it really due to having only a few users? Do you guys think that the speed will go down after more users start using HSPA+?

Aren't most current TMo 3G user supposed to be able to reap the HSPA+ benefits as well?

Yeah, I think t-mobile's 3G phones use HSPA including the G1. The chip on them (G1s) won't let it go faster than 7.2 Mb/s but the G2 has a max of 14.4Mb/s.

So it's not a new network it is connecting to. It just has a chip that allows it to take full advantage of the speed the network allows.

That's the max I've gotten so far. On the phone itself, is there any way to tell whether you are on 3G or HSPA+? They both just use "H" on the notification bar.

apparently its going to read H no matter what you are getting (wel unless its edge)

went to a tmobile storetoday and got on a webconnect rocket 2.0 stick in Miami, FL. very disappointing. This area is supposed to be HSPA+

I just got my G2 a couple of hours ago and the speed test in the store was around 1.79 down and .56 up. After getting home I tried the speed test again and got this:

Hell, that's faster than my home internet connection! I pull 181 kb/s because I live in an area that has been abandoned by ISPs (Queens, New York). T_T

Yeah I hate the upload speed I'm stuck with on Time Warner Cable here in Queens. If I have a strong enough indoor signal once 4G becomes official here I think I'll be uploading pics and videos with my EVO. lol.
