g2 randomly freezes -> reboots

Looking for suggestions,

My phone has problems freezing then reboots. usually when unlocking the screen(once when answering a call). It's a pretty random occurrence but definitely happens two or three times a day.
Would this be a software issue, or hardware?

I had this issue before I changed anything with the phone ie. rooting,rom-ing
*tried factory data reset
*installed cyanogenmod 10.2 & twrp 2.3.3.6
*tried data format & wipe through twrp
*thinking about reflashing a stock rom

this is phone #2 as the first one committed suicide out of my pocket. first phone never had any issues. insurance co. says it is covered under warranty but they dont have any more g2s? and that they would send me an s4. I would rather stay with the g2 if i can fix whatever the hell is wrong. if not s4?

any other suggestions?

Are you using the Gmail widget on the lock screen. I had the same problem. Once I got rid of the widget the problem was solved

no widgets are being used currently.
I read about the widget issues and tried that and still had the problem.

i just did a factory data reset .... again.... and not installing any apps, to see if it happens again or not.
currently on cyanogenmod 10.2-20131130-nightly-vs980

I'm having a similar problem. Is yours happening with bluetooth connected, without it connected, or both? My g2 is doing just fine answering calls and everything without freezing when not connected to bluetooth.

But when my bluetooth headset is connected, sometimes it works and sometimes it randomly freezes my phone. I can get it unfrozen by just turning off my headset. Sometimes when I turn the headset back on it will connect and be fine again for a while, other times it will freeze the phone again right away.

When it starts freezing the phone right away I'll have to reboot the phone for it to connect and work without freezing. It will work for what seems like a random amount of time and then the whole problem starts over again.

Anyone have similar issues?

Mine will randomly reboot, I do notice it the most when I am on my way home from work. In all likely hood my BT is turned on and connected to the car, but I cant confirm it was when it happened. I'll turn it on more to see if I can back up what you are saying.
