I switched from a G3 to a Moto X 2014. So far I'm pretty happy with the change. I tested the first release of lollipop in the G3 and it was quite great, but the strong intrussive UI dissapointed me. I felt also some lag when going home from apps and a very aggressive memory management (you know, I still play Candy Crush Saga

and if I swapped from CCS to whatsapp and returned to CCS, my game had closed and I had to start again). The screen in G3 is gorgeus but, even when I have very big hands (I'm 2m tall) it was still too big and I had problems to reach top left corner. Camera in G3 is amazing and I don't know if there is other phone with such a camera. But still I prefer my Moto X:
-Better build quality and materials (bamboo back here)
- Better memory management.
- Better size in my opinion. For me, 5-5.2inch reaches sweet spot.
Some things I don't like in my Moto X:
- really thin in its edges, it's sometimes hard to not drop
- Lack of developement community.
- Camera app sucks and it seems it's still incompatible with android lollipop new API.
- No removable battery.
Hope it helps you if you are still thinking of switching.
