I have a verizon g3 running 6.0 and I wanted to root to put custom rom. I used kingroot and superuser which appeared to work fine. I tried using flashify to install twrp and it tried to boot to recovery but the led just flashed. I pulled the battery and it boots and runs fine but then superuser said it needs updates which fail and root checkers say I'm not rooted. I also can not do a factory reset. How do I fix my recovery? I found a couple methods but they all failed.

Thanks for the help.

Reflash the stock ROM, then try again (or leave the phone alone once it's working stock).

Thanks for the reply! Is there a method to put stock rom that will have higher chance of success? I have tried a few and have not been successful.

Thanks

I tried LG flash tool, set the port to 41, and I get an error "Download FAIL!!. Model information check fail.".
I used these files:
LGVS985_20140620_LGFLASHv160.dll
VS98510B_03.tot

You're on the right track. Downgrade to 10b and root using stump. Then install a bumped twrp custom recovery for your device. Then use twrp to flash a rooted 47a Rom.
