Wow, your shot looks really good... settings?
I think that the s6 is probably the best camera for those not wanting to mess around with manual mode. I came to that conclusion before buying the s6 for my wife and the g4 for me.
I think anyone who seriously researched the two phones would come to the same conclusion. s6 will beat the g4 in both auto camera and in video.
I like to mess with the settings to get the best possible shot but my wife doesn't. That is why I got the g4 for me and the s6 for her. I bet that I get better pictures than her though![]()
We just got our phones on Wednesday night so not a lot of chance to compare and contrast - but here is an example of my wife shooting the s6 and me shooting the g4 of the same subject to kind of illustrate our different approaches and why the s6 is best for her and the g4 me.

Even when choosing the focus point, it still chooses the wrong exposure in auto mode for moving objects, resulting in a blurry photo. Why? Because it chooses too low of an iso and too slow of a shutter speed. This is just bad auto programming on LG's end. There's no getting around that
Action shots seem OK to me, although it looks crappy because I uploaded from my phone. The light also wasn't great.
In both cases, on and off, I'm having the focus issues
While reading through the thread, I was also hoping that a different camera app might produce better results. I guess not yet, but hopefully in the future.
Bad auto programming by LG could hopefully evolve with time, however. I'd rather have issues which can hopefully be resolved via software, vs being innate hardware problems.
I'm not disputing your observations, about how the camera makes poor exposure choices for action shots, with low ISO, and slow shutter speeds. But those same choices might be great for the person shooting landscapes. Perhaps the addition of different auto modes might help.
My Canon P&S has different Scene modes, with ones biased towards high f-stops & slow shutters, and vice versa, etc. That might be a big help here.
I am admittedly in the camp that only full-Auto, and full-Manual, is too far to the extremes. Give me shutter-priority, Auto with +/- EV settings, Auto with different exposure choices (spot, etc) and so on. Full-manual, for me, is really only useful for set up shots where I can take my time, and take multiple shots. Night pics, things like that.

I happen to like this thread and thanks for sharing your insights.
Yes lets move on is very wise words![]()
So what is your next move are you going to opt for the S6 or Edge?
Or perhaps wait to see what is next? Like the Nexus or Moto X or perhaps the Note 5?

I'm still weighing my options. I've gone through a couple of gs6 devices and while I liked the camera, I had severe quality control issues with the devices. My first device had the dreaded pink screen tint and then after a week, the camera had an issue where it wouldn't auto focus unless you shook the phone. This is apparently not an uncommon problem on Samsung devices.
The second device I received had an isocell sensor instead of a Sony. And I'm in the camp that thinks the isocell is inferior to the Sony. These issues combined with the terrible battery life are making me hesitant to go back to the gs6.
I'm still holding out a bit of hope that LG will release an update soon and fix some of the issues with the phone. Oh, and getting root access at some point would be nice.
Either way, I'll definitely be getting the next nexus device when it comes out. I still have my N5 and love it.
I have been playing with Camera FV-5. It takes some incredible shots. As for the issues with blurry shots of moving objects, I just hold down the button and rapid fire off several shots. I have had no issues grabbing moving objects clearly that way.![]()
I agree on the lag part, it takes forever to do anything, including snapping a shot. It takes great pics though.
