Hey all,

I have a G2 now, I've narrowed down my choices to the G4 or Nexus 6. Any thoughts?

Was just faced with the same decision yesterday. Went N6. The G4 seemed to have a touch of lag. Plus nexus means open and flashing Roms. G4 has removable battery and micro SD slot. Just depends what's more important to you. If you're fine without both, nexus all the way baby! This things a hoss.

Nope no thoughts at all. How about you...? Why these 2 devices? What carrier you on?

I've had the Nexus 6 since December, love it .. What version is the G4 running?,does that matter to you? It certainly gets great reviews for the camera although I've no problems with this camera. It's a nice choice to make , can't go wrong I say. For me it comes down to the software..... And the Nexus 6 wins there ....happy picking

What are your needs? The g4 has the better camera. The n6 has pure Android.

I don't think you will be unhappy with either of those options. I have had the Nexus 6 since January and I still love it. I just got the wife a G4 about 10 days ago and I am a bit envious of it, I mean not enough to give up my Nexus, but enough to make me know that I would definitely rather have the G4 over S6. But, then again that is just me.

Camera? Overall size? Extra storage / swappable battery? G4
Speed? Battery life? Screen size? Audio? = Nexus 6

I am keeping my Nexus 6. G4 also seems to have this phantom tap issue... Give it some time to be fixed.

I had both kept my nexus 6. Was very close thou. I thought Nexus 6 was smoother and I like the slightly bigger screen with that said if I had to pick any other phone besides the Nexus it would be the G4.

I'm on T-Mobile, battery life and screen brightness are the most important followed by camera and stock Android or close to it. My G2 i use the now launcher and use the Google apps versus the apps LG has altered.

I've made comments here regarding these two phones since I had the Nexus 6 for 6 months prior to getting the G4. I didn't really have issues with the Nexus and really liked it, but the camera on the G4 is what got me. I've also noticed the automatic screen brightness on the G4 works better than the Nexus did. I have it set on automatic and it does its thing, whether in out in the sun or in the bed at night. With the Nexus I was always fiddling with the brightness depending on where I was.

The camera was nice on the Nexus in my use... I got some good pictures out of it. It would take some fiddling as well, whereas with the G4 most of the time it's just ready to go and takes much less effort. The speed is definitely valuable and not an issue on the G4.

One thing I do miss is the software, but you can get close to it by installing the Google Now Launcher and some of the Google Apps. But after doing that for a while, I've tried LG's software and for me it's not bad at all. With the Nexus you realize how much the manufacturers add on to the experience, both good and bad. With the Nexus you're kind of in your own. So I use many Google apps on the G4 and have a similar overall experience.

So basically based on your list and order of importance, I think you'd like the G4. It's also cheaper!

I would say, if you can, physically hold the Nex6 and then the G4. The extra .5" of screen makes a difference. I personally don't care for the Nex6 physical size.

N6 all the way. I too came from a G2 but it was between the S6E and N6 as the G4 wasn't out yet. Only regret is I should have gotten the white version.

I had both and kept the N6 and have 0 regrets. The camera on the G4 is better but only under ideal conditions. It was still slow as heck taking a pic on that thing.

I am on TMobile and I do have both phones. So using your list of priorities on a phone:

battery life
screen brightness are the most important

I would say both are very good on the battery life.

I know there have been some posters that have had issues with battery life on the LG (and the N6), but I haven't seen any major issues. To me, both are equally good during the day. Both should give you at least 12 hrs of battery life.

As far as screen
LG G4- 5.5-inch Quad HD IPS Quantum Display (2560 x 1440, 538ppi)

Nexus 6 - 5.96" 2560 x 1440 QHD AMOLED display (493 ppi)

At least to my eyes, I find the N6 brighter than the LG G4.

followed by camera and stock Android or close to it.

Camera on the LG G4 is far superior than the N6. Personally, the interface is a bit wonky on the N6 and the images that come out are a tad inferior than from what I was getting with the Samsung S6 or now with the LG G4.

As far as stock Android...well...N6. Obviously. There are other manufacturers that do have close to stock Android, but neither LG 4 or Samsung S6. You either love LG G4 take on Lollipop Android...or you don't.

Why the white version versus the other options? I was considering white as all my phones have always been dark, any other reason?

Coming from a LG g3 I couldn't see myself going for another LG phone at the moment. My nexus 6 is scheduled to be delivered on wed and I can't wait to get away from this g3. Development seemed to lack people interested in the device so I wanted something that most people were interested in.

I already owned my Google Store N6 for about a month when the G4 came out, had the G4 for about 4 days and returned it to AT&T. It wasn't a bad phone, I just didn't find it to be a better phone then the N6, I'm not real picky about the cameras on my phones, there good enough for what I use a camera on a phone for, as for the rest of the G4 there was just nothing to me that stood out as exceptional. I did pick up a Samsung S6 Active and except for the screen size I like it just as much as my N6. My 2 cents anyway.
