My screen is using too much battery sometimes as high as 45%. How do I prevent this?

By doing all the things that no one wants to do:
turn down the brightness
watch fewer videos
play fewer games
maybe turn on the game optimizer?

These big beautiful screens need lots of power to be big and beautiful.

Not much! Using the phone uses a lot of power and if you have the brightness set high it will use even more.

This phone is good but the battery makes it horrible. I already have game optimizer on. When ever I play ANY game this battery goes down like a timer. And the screen doesn't even get that bright as other phones

Big arse high res screen = screen related battery drain

That goes for both phones and laptops, and although different screen technologies may make some difference (eg LCD, IPS), there's no escaping that fact.

Of course there are some activities that can make it worse (camera viewer open, watching videos, etc.)

The screen is typically the highest battery consumption overall on most phones (AMOLED displays are a possible exception, but depends on usage). So I wouldn't bother worrying about it other than turning down brightness when you can. If the display is on, the screen will use a large chunk of battery.
