is it worth it to go from g6 to the 2xl? my main gripe about g6 is that the camera is so slow. it takes like 3 seconds or so for it to focus properly. my previous phone was the s7 edge and that camera was way faster to focus. and often it takes a while for the camera app to load so that's more seconds into waiting to take a picture. also, the battery of the g6 is starting to drain faster now. never really had a google phone so i figured i'd try it. i'm expecting a snappier phone from the pixel though cause of the larger ram. would i be incorrect in assuming that?

I have the Pixel 2 XL. It's the fastest phone I've ever used. As you can see, it also has a keyboard that has an uppercase key that works! :)

Spend $40 on a small point-and-shoot that you can carry everywhere you carry your phone and save the rest for the Pixel 3.

It’s snappier because it’s bare. More RAM means nothing if poorly optimized, just look at Samsung :P

I'd say that yes, the Pixel 2 XL would be faster than the G6. It has a newer processor and that particular processor is efficient and also good at managing battery life. I'm not a camera buff but I'm absolutely in love with the camera on the Pixel 2. It's phenomenal!

As someone who loves the G6 but has a Pixel 2, I think you would be happy with the Pixel 2 XL. However, only you can decide if the upgrade is justifiable - and, of course, you can always return the Pixel if you do decide to buy it and change your mind later! :)

Let us know what you decide!

If we comparing Pixel to the G6 I'm not sure LG bakes a lot of extra stuff into their skin. I know that my G5, V20, were pretty snappy over time. I had the V30 for two weeks and it was pretty fast so I would expect the same from the G6.

I had a G6. Nice phone and all but TBH with all the problems LG had in the past (boot loops and such)... it makes me very cautious about any of their phones. Hell my buddies V20 camera just died a few months ago. No rhyme or reason .. Just stopped working. Luckily we got it replaced under Verizon warranty and he is good now but the fact they have so many random fails like that make it hard to trust them when it comes to phones... at least for me.

I just switched from the G6 to the Pixel 2 a month ago. After six months with the G6 it was getting laggy and buggy, the camera was driving me nuts. Could never get it open fast enough to snap a pic of my kids it seemed. I can tell you you will not only love the speed of the camera but the picture quality is noticably better too.

I personally went with the smaller Pixel 2 because it's almost the same overall size as the G6 and I love this size. Yeah, the top and bottom bezels kind of suck for a couple weeks but I'm used to it now. The other reason I went with the smaller one is cost, I wanted to save the $200 because I plan to get a Pixel 3 and so it didn't make sense to spend the extra $$ right now. But for me, the Pixel 2XL felt to big so I'm hoping the Pixel 3 is about the same size as the Pixel 2 but with at least a 5.5" screen.

I don't think you'll regret the 2XL, especially if you are going to keep it awhile. The software is phenomenal
