Wish i could apply next day through Prime. :(

+1 on that! Me too!

Edit: Just called Amazon to see if expediting the shipping was an option. It's not. They also said that it was indeed "backordered", so they couldn't even give a ship date (my online order status still says shipping on the 16th). So... It might be a toss-up between ordering online and trying to find one in store.

I can't order thru Amazon now. I plan to change my plan from individual to family plan next month once my wife's contract is over. They said if I change my plan, I'll be charged the full retail price of the phone, even though I'm not switching lines, just adding one to my account. smh. I wonder if Best Buy will do the same since they're a 3rd party retailer. smh. Guess I'd better figure it out.

Guess it all depends on who you talk to...

Just called Amazon again and the lady was able to upgrade me to next day shipping! She still wasn't clear on what the "backordered" status meant, but she said it still shows shipping on the 16th. So I'll keep my fingers crossed for Saturday!

Why the heck are you using 2 URL shorteners to hide the destination URL? Are you trying to drop an Amazon affiliate cookie onto us? This is basically SPAM.

Here's the redirect path:

Here is the product page with NO affiliate link:

Amazon.com: Samsung Epic Touch 4G Android Phone (Sprint): Cell Phones & Accessories
Link

Unfortunately we get a lot of these (Amazon affiliate links) as new devices become available. Now I have to go figure out what this persons other user names are.

Just called Best Buy and the lady laughed at me when I asked if they'd charge the full amount for the phone if I changed over to a family plan after I purchased it. Guess that means no. So I think I'm going to head to BB and buy w/ my gift cards.

My only problem is there's a Sprint store about 2 min away and they open at 9am vs Best Buy at 10am. Gonna be very hard not to run to Sprint first and just pay out of pocket.

ROFL! You could always handcuff yourself to a pole and give a friend the key with explicit instructions not to unlock them until 10am. :p

Two potential problems with that:

1: If they don't unlock me until 10am, I won't get there until 10:15 or 10:20 and by that time, the masses could have rushed in and bought all the SGS2E4GT's while I was en route. Of course I could tell them to unlock me at 9:30, but then the Sprint store is already open and the same urge is there.

2: What if the friend also wants the phone and takes advantage of me being handcuffed to the pole to steal my BB gift cards and go purchase the phone for themselves. Then they could come back and taunt me while I'm still cuffed to the pole waiting for some random, passing meter maid to come save me...

Woe is me! :)

I got my order in through amazon. This weekend I am putting to rest my original, first day purchased palm pre. I am still unsure about how I really feel. I hope this phone will be practical (I consider the pocketability of the pre a plus).

ALSO:

Amazon charged me tax. I am billed in CA but live in WA, so go figure. Also the Activation Fee was NOT waived. All this aside, I love the way amazon treats their customers (I am a long time user), and I wouldn't risk ordering through a company as fishy as Wirefly.

I came from the Pre to an Evo (and soon the E4GT), and Android has been pretty good to me. While you'll miss quite a few things about the Pre at first, eventually you'll get used to Android and the pains will fade. ;)
