2nd phone - 1st one replaced under warranty. Phones Hotspot drops data connection after 30 seconds. Have to switch Hotspot on phone off then on again, then it works for 30 seconds before data connection drops again. The ONLY way Hotspot will work properly is if I'm am on a call. I have to dial up ATT customer service and set the phone down just to keep the Hotspot working. Happens with every device I try to connect, and in any location. Any advise?

Hi, welcome to AC!
You try reset network in settings>general management>reset>reset network

Welcome to Android Central! To be clear -- are you talking about the phone's hotspot feature (i.e., the ability to act as a wi-fi hotspot for another device to connect to), or are you just talking about the phone's ability to stay connected to any wi-fi network?

Does this persist in Safe Mode? https://www.t-mobile.com/support/de...galaxy-a51-5g/safe-mode-samsung-galaxy-a51-5g

Sorry meant to say Hotspot - not Wi-Fi. I will edit post, and try Safe Mode. Thank you!

First, make sure you haven't exceeded any monthly limit for hotspot usage -- that can depend on your plan. Most plans I'm aware of don't have unlimited hotspot.

If you haven't exceeded any monthly limit, then I would also contact AT&T and ask them if there's some problem on their end.

After another round with ATT:

"I have checked with the network team and they notified that there is a issue with the logic board of the
SIM card that is the reason you're facing this issue and we need to get a new one and if you wish, I will order
the new one for free of charge and you will get it on your mailing address in next 24 hours."

So hoping the new SIM card will solve problem. I guess it makes sense since the problem started when i got the original phone with new sim card, and I put the same SIM card in the replacement phone. Either way I will chime in with the results incase anyone else has a similar issue.
