Does anyone have Zolo Liberty+ (*not* the regular Liberty) and also got the Galaxy Buds? The ones with Bluetooth 5. If yes, can you share your thoughts on how they compare with respect to connection stability and sound? Thanks.

Background
I've got the $130 credit from my pre-order, and was planning to get the Buds when they come back in stock.

I have a pair of Zolo Liberty+ (*not* the regular Liberty) which are fine for my use - which is while working out at the gym. They stay in my ears well, they have to me a very good range of sound with good treble and good rich bass. My only complaint with them is no volume control on the buds themselves so I have to use the phone volume, which is a bit awkward since the phone is in a Running Buddy pouch at my waist. The software for the Zolo is pretty basic as well and has not been updated once since I purchased them last year.

So, I was intrigued by the ability to change controls via the software on the Galaxy Buds. And I was hoping they would sound at least as good as the Liberty buds. The comments I've been seeing here in various threads, and in enough reviews from websites, is making me second guess this. I've seen too many comments on poor bass (they sound "tinny") and on connection drop outs. Also not seeing any raving reviews here from regular users.

Might just use my credit to go towards the new Galaxy Tab S5e, because I really need a tablet...¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you judge the Galaxy Buds purely on sound quality, then they are mediocre at very best. I've tried tons of cheap buds since I do product reviews for various companies, and the Galaxy Buds are not much better than a $20-30 pair of no name wireless buds in terms of sound quality.

The main draws of the Galaxy Buds is that they are free (for most of us), integrate well with Samsung phones, are truly wireless and can charge via a wireless charger.

With all that being said, it depends what's most important to you. For me, I took them as they were free and work perfectly for the gym. If sound quality is high on your list, then I would definitely pass on them.

Anyone who says they sound "good" hasn't had enough experience with headphones or audio in my humble opinion.

Good luck!

I didn't like them physically--they were awkward to handle. If you're regularly taking them out, using them, and putting them back in the case, they don't hold a candle to my Jabra Elites. I tried the Buds for a few minutes and decided, I already have the Jabra units--and they're SO much easier to work with on a regular, day to day basis.

Well....pretty much par for the course with other comments on here. Thanks!

Anyone who casts judgement on an individuals 'preference of sound' is a snob.....in my humble opinion.
I agree to some extent. But in my opinion there is a such thing as "mediocre" or "bad" sound that can be universally agreed upon.

For example, I don't think anyone would say that $5 earbuds sound "good". These Galaxy Buds are adequate when you factor in their convenience and feature set. Not bad, but not great. Mediocre as I said before.

That's not necessarily a bad thing.

You still don't get it. You're coming off as a snob.

I have $10 earbuds that sound just as "good" as $100/$200 pair of earbuds. Who are YOU to tell me that I'm inexperienced because I think this?! You would be better off telling people that you prefer certain sound signatures. I prefer heavy and tight on the low end with soft highs. You may like something else entirely. No one is right or wrong or inexperienced for liking something you may not.

And for the record.........

Ok, I'm a snob to you. I'll just agree to disagree and move on.
