I haven't tried. Though I have both as I am rather sure you do from following these forums. Have you tried and had issues?

I tried, without success. Reason being, I think, is on the Gear's settings for bluetooth ... the Visibility setting is grayed out for now. However, I unchecked Bluetooth, waited a moment and checked it again, then the Visibility became active. If you check it quickly you can see it will be visible for 2:00 seconds then it quickly goes inactive before you can get a scan done on the Note 10.1.

does the 10.1 2014 edition have NFC? would you pair it the same way as the N3 by touching the charging dock to the tablet?

I didn't know if it was different or not. odd they didn't include NFC.

I think NFC is intended mainly for phones so you can tap with another to transfer data. Its the tapping function that makes it work, I believe. I guess the mfg'ers couldn't see folks tapping their tablets together to transfer data.

I think that the NFC action between the Gear and the phone is just to launch the Samsung App store to download the Gear Manager app. You can do this manually. The actual pairing of the Gear to the device is done via Bluetooth.

I haven't seen the Gear app in Play Store so I don't think you can download it manually. I'm aware the connection is blue tooth but having the Gear Manager on the tablet would be great.

The Gear Manager app is not in the Play Store. It is in the Samsung App store.

Apparently you can't download the Gear Mgr app from the Samsung App store using a tablet. It doesn't show up on a search.

I am sure connecting the two devices is possible, but I still have not figured out how:confused:
