Galaxy J7 Perx text issue

I recently purchased this Galaxy J7 Perx and have come across an issue with the text messaging that I'm hoping someone will be able to help me with.

When typing out a long paragraph and sending the message, it shows as a collapsed box and you can click on the "view all" and see the whole message like this:



When i click on the view all for my message I sent, it looks like this:



but when I click on one that I've received, this is all I see and cant download the attachment:



I thought this would be something in the settings, but I've messed around with about everything i can think of to try and fix it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! It probably has to do with MMS, since a text message longer than 160 characters gets converted to MMS. I see that your mobile data is on -- that would've been my first question. Check to make sure the APN settings are correct for your carrier: https://www.androidcentral.com/what-apn-and-how-do-i-change-it

Just purchased the J7 Perx from Boost hoping it might solve the Not Receiving Text problem. Still happening every few days. No amount of updates or reboots help. Seems like this is a Network problem that has been going on for years.
