Galaxy J7 V low internal storage space

The J7V comes with 16GB internal storage. It complains of being down to about 733MB free space. The Storage settings shows 14.6GB for Other Files. What is strange is that using a tool like Disk Usage or Drives only shows 10.5GB of space, of which the OS appears to be taking 8.4GB. Any ideas of where the missing disk space is?

Welcome to Android Central! Various messaging or social media apps can build up a gigantic cache. If you use apps like Telegram, Instagram, kik, etc., check those caches and see if they need to be cleared.

Also, do you use Textra?

All the application caches have been cleared out. I dont use Textra.
I realize that the formatted capacity of a storage card is less than the specified amount. However, if the internal storage is 16GB, I would expect the formatted capacity to be around 14GB, not 10 or 11.

For Samsung phones, it's not unusual for the OS and preinstalled bloatware to take up quite a bit of space. A 16 GB phone could easily have only 10 GB available to the user.
