Does anyone know the exact dimensions of the Galaxy Nexus. Specifically the height, width and diameter. Also how comparable in size is the Nexus to the Galaxy S2? Thank you.
I'm a little bit perplexed by that fact that both side by side pics I've seen. The 4.65 screen on the GN looks longer than the T-Mo, 4.52' Epic Touch 4g. However it appears noticeably narrower & the phone dimensions seem to back that up. (Same thing can be said of the SGS II 4g LTE vs SGSII). That may be good news for some who worried it's too big. Even if it has the 16:9 ratio, letterbox video will appear slightly smaller than it should. I really hoped it would've been wider than Samsungs other 4.5 offerings.
I'm very disappointed at the increasingly "over the top" dimentions of high-end phones. I hope everyone is paying attention to the fact that full-blown tablets start at 7" and these things are only 2.5" or less from THAT. New phones with 4" or 4.3" screens are a full generation behind in specs, screen quality and being "future-proof". If I wanted a tablet in my pocket, I'd buy a tablet.
It stinks that Samsung made the epic touch larger than previous carrier's SGII phones when released to Sprint, but with the same resolution.
I just wonder where it ends. At what size do more people begin to say "ok, enough is enough. I'm watching this movie, or playing this game on my phone because I'm bored and stuck somewhere, not because I think it's a reasonable substitute for a real television or gaming system." Maybe I'm crazy, but a phone shouldn't be considered "cargo" when placed in a pocket of actual cargo pants. There is a problem when the Nexus S 4G looks diminutive (lay one over an epic touch).
That's my rant for the year.I'm really just hoping to start a grass-roots movement of discontent and pressure on manufacturers to make reasonably sized phones again.
