I keep having my Galaxy nexus shut off...I researched it (With no solution) and for whatever reason the battery can be tapped a certain way whether in my pocket or I set it down and BAM shuts down. Well when I restart it...it loses about 15-30% of its battery...thats kinda weird..Is this normal? Faulty battery perhaps? Is this a solution to fix it? etc etc etc.

My phone was doing the same thing. Extreme battery drain. Overheating. And shutting off randomly. I got a new battery and flashed AOKP's Milestone 1 ROM and that fixed things.

I had a similar problem but my battery doesn't drop in power levels. I found some advice about folding some paper under the battery to press it against the contacts. This did not work. What worked for me was spraying the insides of the contacts with some deoxidation spray. This completely fixed my problem. You sound like you need a new battery though.

Hi, sorry for the necropost, but seemed still relevant because the Galaxy Nexus is still viable with a custom rom.
So I did what you suggested, Zephyrprime; seems that it worked, so thanks for the great advice, and I made a very short howto on this:

Since I did this, it's been running over a week without spontaneous shutdown, whereas before, it shutdown almost every day. Not saying that it is the solution to all automatic shutdowns but may help for some.

cheers.
