Hi Guys. My Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 P605 LCD screen has completely gone bonkers. The youtube link shows a short video of exactly what is happening. It seems that the touchscreen and buttons all work fine.

I'm curious if this is a bad LCD cable or something else. I've removed and reseated the LCD ribbon cable and after doing so a few times, I get a slightly different result to the screen each time. But never get any better than the video. I either get no screen at all, what you see in the video, or something in between that.

Any thoughts what could be the issue?

Obvious bad LCD; if you have HDMI adapter, connect to a TV, you will see the display of your tablet.
I don't think the LCD cable is bad, you will waste money as the result will be the same.

Good idea with the HDMI cable. One question though. As you can see from the video, I can't see anything at all on the display. Will the MHL HDMI connection display basically mirror my screen or will it only output video? Because if it will only output video, I really have no way to initiate a stream.

The output on TV is a mirror of your screen, exactly like screen mirroring if you this function to stream wirelessly your display to TV.
This method also use to test if the display problem is from LCD or mainboard. Everything is fine on TV, you have a bad LCD. Display is the same on TV, the problem is from mainboard.

This is the adapter that you need, you can use your tablet with a broken LCD via a TV.

Okay, got it. Ordered a cheap MHL adapter from Amazon and had it delivered to the house today. Plugged it in, and i have a normal picture on the screen of monitor. The tablet screen is still the same. So based on that, it would seem to point to a bad LCD. Sound about right?

So I ordered a cheap MHL HDMI adapter off of Amazon and had it delivered today. Plugged it in and I do have a good picture on my monitor. Still a bad picture on the tablet, so this would seem to point towards a bad LCD.

You can sell your tablet for parts because the main board is working, I believe it's worth more than $100 if you have a 32gb tablet, then buy a used one, around $200.
Other option, buy a not working Note with good Lcd and swap the main board if you're comfortable to do so.

I think thats a good idea. It's actually a 64gb with 4G and clean esn, so it should fetch a fair price for the main board. Thanks for all the advice.

So your tablet can sell in the range of over $150 as many users have the problem of bad mainboard and cannot find anywhere for the needed part.
Last week I bought a not charging Galaxy Note Pro LTE 12.2 from Verizon for $130 and a Galaxy Note Pro wifi 12.2 with bad LCD for $110. Swap the wifi mainboard to the LCD of Verizon, I get a full Galaxy Note Pro wifi 12.2 for $240, normally it should be in the range of over $300, and some extra parts of the Note Pro with bad LCD.
Mainboards of Samsung Galaxy Note are very difficult to find, I believe you can sell your tablet for part easily on ebay.

If you don't know how to swap part, buy this one and sell yours for part

I can take out the mainboad within 10 minutes, I will buy the SM-p605 for LCD assembly and sell its mainboard.
All Note 2014 LTE versions have the same hardwares.

If you sell the 32GB SM-p605 mainboard for $150, it only costs you $130 for the LCD assembly and some extra parts.
Samsung Note mainboard is easily sold as it's very hard to find.
