Android Central Question

Hello, My Galaxy Note 10.1 Tablet GT-N8013ZW 2012 WIFI Only will not turn on. The tablet sat unused for over a year. The original battery would not charge so I replaced the battery which shows it is charging and charged on the screen using the original cables plugged into electric outlet. When I try to turn it on nothing happens. I have tried holding the power button to reboot (nothing happens). I tried holding the power button along with the volume button (nothing happens). Both button holdings attempts were done holding for several minutes. I checked all ribbons and connections all are secure and properly inserted. I checked the power button and manually pressed the button directly on the switch which clicked when pushed (bypassing the plastic button on the case). The tablet was never dropped or damaged in anyway, just sat unused on a bookshelf. The tablet does not make any indication of trying to power on. Any suggestions on what else I should try. Thank you Andrew

Thank you, Just signed up. Is that common for a tablet just sitting unused?
I will have to check prices for a new motherboard not sure it will be worth it thankfully nothing important on it.

Hi, welcome to AC!

Try holding the power button and up until something happens or vibration, or do same volume down/power button

Keep in mind that the device is 9 years old -- it wouldn't be particularly unusual for a device that old to have some kind of hardware failure. Or perhaps something happened when you opened it up to replace the battery, like a short that may have fried a circuit.

Didn't these also have issues with the internal charging cable? On a 9 year-old device that is as out of date as that one (lacking some pretty important security patches) I'm not sure it's wise to spend a ton of money getting it working. You could spend as much repairing that unit as you could just buying a replacement Tab A.

Thank you for all the advise, I just thought it was weird that when plugged in to charge the screen shows it charging but will not show anything else. Guess the battery uses a different way of showing on the display screen separate from the mother board.

Yeah, I seem to recall @Beut being an expert at that kind of thing.
