Sorry, all. It is just the 4.3 update and not Kit Kat.

Received my OTA (Kit Kat) update today for my Verizon Galaxy Note 2.

Have not installed, as I am waiting to see how Root is affected.

Are you sure it's kit kat and not the minor 4.3 update that pushed out a couple of days ago?

The Note 3 is finally getting the kit kat update this week, long after the other carriers. I seriously doubt we will get it any time soon on the Note 2. Wait a couple of weeks or more after your friends on Sprint, AT&T and TMobile have it and then start looking for it.

So this OTA isn't KitKat for sure right?
I don't want to lose the use of my 128gb card and have no interest in rooting.

No. Is the update I got a few weeks ago. Some Verizon updates. No kit kit this round.

Has anyone's Note II slowed down noticeably, especially since 4.3? With ICS this phone was blazing fast, now it is actually sluggish and slow to respond to keypresses, answering calls, etc. This is with nothing running.

I have nothing wrong with the update. You may want to delete "devlak?" cache.

To clear the system cache (root not needed) do the following (it will NOT affect any personal data, it's only a temporary cache area used by the Android OS. Clearing it periodically can improve system performance):

- With your Device off simultaneously press and hold Volume Up/Home/power buttons until you see Android System Recovery at the top of the screen and a green android laying down with a Red triangle above him in the center of the screen.
- Scroll down using the Volume down button and Highlight "wipe cache partition" and press the power button to select
- When it says Cache wipe complete at the bottom and "reboot system now" is highlight press the power button to reboot.

Try clearing the system cache as listed above. Otherwise if still an issue a master factory reset would be the next step.

Side note; may have been a typo, but for the record the Note 2 launched with Jelly Bean 4.1.1 :)
