Galaxy note 2 turn off by itself

My phone an AT&T galaxy note 2 at 4.4.2 is rebooting a few times a day. The phone back doesn't fit well but looks like this be a software issue. I did a factory reset a few weeks ago because of lockups. I used smart switch and backed up everything. When I restored all my calender entities were gone. I tried restoring then again and no appointments. So things are screwed up here.

Since that time 4 wks ago my phone totally died. I believe it fried itself to death because of an improper server address setting for my Microsoft live.com acct. I wonder if all of you who had that shutting off problem, losing data, hot phone, battery draining too fast, lockups etc., had a Microsoft email acct that continually tried to access a bad server address, heated up and fried parts of your phone?

Don't know if it's relevant but my wife's Note 2 had the same problems with battery drainage and shutting down. Man in shop said it was a duff battery so we bought a new one which didn't fix it. Then he said it was a faulty charger! We tried a different charger but still no difference. Just before the problems started I remembered that I had loaded McAfee free onto her phone so I took it off and replaced it with the free version of AVG and guess what? No more problems. Phone functions perfectly. Hope that helps.

Hi all,
I have had all of the same Note 2 issues, turning off several times a day, battery draining etc.
I think I am one step closer to sorting mine, I have been trying alsorts with no joy but for the last few days I have had Wifi and Bluetooth turned off and no problems......hasn't turned itself off once!
I know it is a small victory, but maybe someone will be able to make a connection as to why it is fine when not connected? I've since got a note 4, but I always really liked the 2, so would like to see it up and running again, and maybe help others with the same problem.

Cheers, Dazz
