Galaxy note 3 camera hangs on touching the icon

The phone hangs on touching the camera icon . Can click any pictures . Tried restarting and removed the batteries but no solution so far . Please help .

Welcome to Android Central! Try booting into Safe Mode, which disables all 3rd party apps. If the problem goes away in Safe Mode, then something you installed is probably causing instability. Safe mode: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (N900) | T-Mobile Support

Thanks for the response but unfortunately it's the same result . There is no camera apps in the application manager , it's the camera icon which is not working and turning the entire phone to hang on touching it .

Wait, there's no camera app at all? Is it disabled?

Did you install a new ROM? You need TouchWiz for proper camera function. Or if you have TouchWiz but froze or removed something the camera is dependent on. Whatever you did, I suggest you flash back to stock and start over. If you still want to modify your phone, do things one by one and test their effects so you know where the problem is.
