Galaxy Note 3 - Case & Covers Thread

Here is how I modified the Otterbox Defender back to fit the Anker 6400. The TPU covet fits nicely and all the buttons and cutouts line up effects.

So, after skimming through this old thread, I'm wondering if anyone found a good design that keeps the functionality of a flip cover case (open the case, note taking, calendar, time appears without having to go past the lockscreen or to the desktop) while still providing good protection. Normally, I'd just get something like an Otterbox commuter as on my S4, but I hate to lose the functionality.

N.b.: I'm not really looking for a N3 case, but am planning to buy the N4 soon. I'm assuming the Note 3 works the same way as my Samsung 10.1 tablet with a flip cover: open the cover, go to a note taking screen even if you haven't entered the lockscreen password. I'm also assuming the N4 will retain that feature and I'm doing some prelim research on the theory that the case manufacturers will follow through. I suppose some of those assumptions may be off base, but they seemed like a pretty good bet!

Now, that flip cover to note taking feature I don't use much on my tablet, but I can see much more use with it on a phone in everyday use. But I really want some drop protection. The phone, unlike the tablet, is in and out of my pocket constantly. The question is: can I get both drop protection and functionality?

Yeah I was gonna do that instead but didn't have a Dremel or cutting tools handy lol!

So can attest to the otterbox defender and tempered glass screen protector. My kid tonight got mad and threw my Note 3 against the wall. . My heart stopped and was so scared to see what it has become!

When I looked my heart sanked. The screen had a ton of cracks. . Then I realized I had a tempered glass screen protector, bodyguardz from AT&T store. . Took off screen protector, and the actual screen underneath is perfect!

And the otterbox defender case protector the phone itself!

Gonna go to AT&T store tomorrow to see if they can replace the tempered glass for free or if I need to buy a new one. If I do, well worth it!

Gonna stick with the otterbox defender and tempered glass from now on!

Update, went to the AT&T store I got the tempered glass screen protector, and they gave me a new one for free! Said they have a one time replacement for free. Future issues I'll have to go through bodyguardz Warrenty. Looks like replacements online thru bodyguardz directly is only $14.95, vs $45 for retail

I just ordered the Spigen Slim Armor View and im curious, does somebody here used it or is currently using it?

Some questions.

1.) Is the phone actually heavier?

2.) Does it heat up quicker then before?

3.) How does it feel?

I love my basic and cheap tuldia case from Amazon. It's slim, not slippery and slides great onto the pocket. I think I paid like 7 bucks for it. I own 3 seidio cases and their quality is awesome but they have a slightly larger footprint in the pocket.

For the moment I'm using the s view case and a tempered glass screen protector. Really like the S view but when I leave the house I'll put a heavier case on.

Screen protector and big hands lol. Even if I got the Note 4 I think I'd go naked. Possibly going to put a glass screen protector on eventually, but I love how sexy these devices look.

I take CC payments on my phone so my customers have to hold it and sign the screen so a big case and screen protector are a must for me.

Anytime. I have a couple of expensive ones I received for test units but I always fall back on this one. Like I said, slim fit and easy to slide out of the pocket. It's still my favorite after over a year.

Generally I like to have a decent leather case/wallet/pouch for my mobiles but there are very few to choose from for the Note 3 so ended up going with a Spigen 'Slim Armor'
