Android Central Question

I have samsung galaxy note 3.
my sister have note 8, when she takes photos and give them to me, I could access and see the photo via file system but I don't have them in gallery app and I can't edit them.
How could I solve this problem to see photos in the gallery and edit them?

Welcome to Android Central! How is she sending the photo to you, and where are the photos saving to? Use a file manager app to look in the directory where the files are and make sure there isn't a ".nomedia" file there as well. If there is, delete the .nomedia file. Then look in the Gallery app again.

After restarting the phone. Gallery only shows what's in the Media Scan database, and the database doesn't get rebuilt by emails or texts.

I try several ways to get files from her, like share it or she saved photos in pc or USB flash and I copied them in my phone or she sent them via telegram as a file. there is no ".nomedia" file.

I used Media rescan but it can't gather these files

What file format are the photos in, and which directory are they in?

Photo files are saved to a directory (aka pathname or folder) on the phone's storage (or SD card storage). They're not saved to the Gallery app itself. You said you're able to see the photo "via file system," which I assume means you were using the My Files file manager app to view them. Using My Files, select one of those photos, then tap Info or Details, and see which directory the photo file is saved to.

Ok, and you're saying you navigated to both the /SHAREit/pictures/ directory and the parent /SHAREit directory to confirm that a ".nomedia" file is not present in either?

yes, there isn't ".nomedia" file. Is this problem for the size of file?
as I said I can see the file in its directory when I tap the file, but it isn't appear in gallery app and because of that I couldn't find the file when I want to upload it in instagram

I'm not sure why it isn't showing up. As a temporary workaround, what happens if you use the file manager app to copy the image file from that directory to the main /DCIM/Camera directory? Or to the /Pictures directory?

Go to Settings>Apps, select Gallery, then Clear Cache/Clear Data. Then open Gallery again and wait a few seconds for the database to rebuild. Do the photos show up now?
