So Wednesday, i noticed that my Note 3 turned itself off randomly. I turned it back on and went about my business only to notice at some point later it was off again. So when I turned it on, i couldn't put in my pattern lock. The bottom half of my screen stop responding as well.

So i figured out how to do a factory reset, done it, and that didn't correct it either. I took it back to my local VZW store and they swapped it with a new one. I'm glad they did because I was having really weird issues with my WIFI on that phone. I'm hoping this new phone will correct it.

Anyone else had to return their Note 3 this fast?

That is an anomaly for sure, I want to believe. My Note 3 is absolutely a great device and has been completely trouble-free. However, given the millions of these precious gems that are produced there's bound to be a couple rotten eggs and I'm sorry you had to deal with one. Baptize (or whatever you believe in (no holy water though)) your new phone and keep your fingers crossed that it remains trouble free. Please, for your phone's sake put a case on it. Think of the phone, it wants a case.

I read on another forum of a note 3 randomly rebooting. The fix was a strip of thin cardboard wedged between the bottom of the battery and the phone to make the connection tighter.

Wow, I've not heard of that...so a loose battery connection may be the culprit. Give it a shot and let us know.

Sometimes I suppose it certainly fixed this other posters rebooting problem. Couldn't hurt to try it.

sent from my fabulous galaxy note 2

I have had on instance of finding it shut down and wouldn't pwr up. Battery pull fixed. No further issues.

after troubleshooting mine, it would power off in less than 30 seconds. As soon as i showed the guy at Verizon that, he went in the back and gave me a new one.

As he should of. I'm always glad to hear when the carriers do the right thing.
