I have a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3 edition but no SIM inside, hence I am guessing that the issue I am seeing with the outbound Wifi arrow always lit is probably not carrier specific. I am totally thrilled with the new Note 3 I got for a reduced price now that the 4 is out but rather aghast at the amount of bloatware that is installed onto the device. It makes identifying the issue much more challenging. Lookout is constantly virus checking stuff that I probably never needed checking and didn't have in years of owning Android phones. There is an eye icon that is always present although not illuminated. That I don't think is the issue. I have turned off all the apps from running that I added to the phone and left it only with Android and Samsung apps. Stopping the T-Mobile app didn't do anything. Something has outbound WiFi always lit up.

I too just got the note 3 one of the first things I did was disable apps I don't need and can't uninstall . In the apps drawer if you long press on an app that's preloaded you get at the top an option to disable just drag the apps up there. it might fix your problem.

They eye icon is smart stay - as long as it detects that you are looking at the screen (actually the front camera), it won't sleep the screen. You can turn that off in Settings, Display, Smart Screen, Smart Stay.

There is weirdness on the Galaxy Note 3 with 4.4.2 that I can't explain. It's my first Samsung phone and, as much as I love some of the innovation, trying to turn off things or disabling them is maddening.

I can't turn off most things. I was able to turn off the eye with Smart Screen which didn't seem to work for me, not sure why. Now it's off.

I cannot turn off or disable apps such as My Magazine or Flipboard, which simply show a grayed out button when you view them in the app area in Settings.

When I click an empty space on the home screen I don't see any "home screen settings" that others insist is supposed to pop up.

And the outbound wifi indicator is always on. This phone was factory reset and is brand new. I don't think the issues I'm seeing will be fixed with a new phone since they are also software related and all these issues shouldn't be present. Wondering if others also seem to thing their Note 3 acts differently.
