Read this earlier. Sorry for the late response.
I normally check in with the Android Central app, possibly as you do, but you can't upload from there.
I started to use the Tapatalk /- Pro app when I noticed others using it, which requires you just to open a separate sign-in account there, then log in to Android Central. It covers other Mobile Nations and non Mobile Nations forums also.
However I only recently discovered there is an AC Forums app, which basically uses the same layout as Tapatalk, but only covers AC and you won't need a separate Tapatalk sign up account. Give both a try. You will find the option during posting to upload images or attachments from your screenshots folder, or from your Gallery or I guess anywhere else.
Learned the hard way so others won't have to.

Here is mine. Used UCCW widget maker to make the widgets and they are assigned with hotspots too.

AC Forums should be as Android Central log in. As I remember. Def not Tapatalk ID.
*make sure you hit log in not sign up*

Happened to me just now, but I did get it a third time. Be sure you get it right, no way to read the password as you type. No way to log out so I uninstalled it and loaded it again from my apps in Play.
You'll get it, or it may be off kilter today.
Nice widget maker screen. I just come to ogle atm.
