New to the note 3 world
I see a lot of pretty things here

Never used an alternate launcher so i Was wondering how hard all of that hurt the battery

Keep adding the launcher/or pack when you can please, helps a lot

Welcome to Android central
Install any Launcher for most uses less battery power than stock.
Here I do not know anyone that does not use some of Launchers, so go ahead and do not worry
