I admit I did not like the ads. That's why I paid the $5 for GO Launcher Prime and got rid of them. Now it's perfect! For me, anyway!

Nova Prime, grunge icons, ucw htc sense m8 skin clock/weather widget. I'm a noob when it comes to this stuff lol.

Did you find your answer for the short cut icon problem? A launcher will let you change an icon of anything that is added to the screen with a log press and edit to change icon...other wise you will have to install and use a folder organizer app and just make a folder for the one link, app or multiple items....if there is another way someone may chime in
this is how I do it with nova launche r

Now FB text icon is a shortcut to bookmark for face book...when you tap on the icon in the last image you will be taken to your choices for your icons...you can slide through your pages to get to icon packs gallery images etc...I use simple text app and created my icons.
Threw a homescreen shot in as that is what op is about....have a great day and have fun with your new phone.
