iPhone wall chargers peak at 1000 mA, not 500. Also, most macs are designed to put out 1000 mA when an iPhone is connected using USB.. but it's a proprietary gimmick so other mobile phones will barely get enough power to idle, let alone charge. If the computer is seeing the phone then it won't rapid-charge on USB 3.0; seeing the phone means the PC isn't shutting off the data pins, so no high-current mode.

If you aren't aware that what you have written is untrue, let me inform you. Your post was well written, although very misleading, as well as wholly inaccurate. I can all tell that you have had an issue with an Apple product, and I was sad to see you express your frustration about that in this forum. I will assume from your writing style, that you are probably educated. That said, I find myself wondering what you are doing replying to a mac specific troubleshooting forum topic? I don't have an insult for you, that's not what this reply is about. I hope you will realize that you have made a very rude post to all readers of this topic. While you may feel absolute, or supreme in your opinion, this is still a forum where people come to find genuine advice, and help with tech issues. I am also not telling you what to do, and I have nothing negative to say. I was just surprised to find a post so off topic in context.

You pretty much spent more time complaining about apple than answering the question.

Hey, welcome to the Internet! Enjoy your stay.

As a Mac owner for the last 7 years, because I use Unix only since Windows is a joke but I'll spare you my own rant, I thought his reply was absolutely brilliant, and I learned a great deal.

That's called educating with style, and if you want the facts and only the facts, consult the manual and figure it out.

If you want someone to answer, then they get to answer on their own terms, in any way they wish.
