He reports getting a scratch on the front glass on his Note 7 :-\
Well that's unfortunate, but every phone I've owned eventually (after 8 months or so) gets minor surface scratches.

I really doubt there's a way to inoculate against that completely.

I wish phone manufacturers would invest in protecting against minor scratches instead of shattering on drops.

I've never once dropped my phone. Ever.

I've been pretty lucky in that the last 10 years with the few phones I've had from iPhone1, I don't believe I've ever gotten a scratch on a screen. Admittedly I usually put on a screen the moment I get it but many times after the first year I remove it since it's no longer new lol and I daily carry/pocket it and stays just a clear. Been lucky to have small drops but at most a nick on body.

Manufacturers should ship all new phones with a clear shield from factory... protects it during shipping and let the owner decide to remove it if they want.

That's why after using tempered glass I would be reluctant going with the soft ones. If I get a Note 7 I'd probably get the same one Flossy used. I can live with it not going to the edges.

Man, I could never use a screen protector. Just feels weird on my fingers.
