Private Internet Access assigns a different DNS server for you which disguises your location. Does that mean that the stock weather app will no longer work as it can't find my location, or does the weather app in this tablet use GPS?

Hi all,

I am now very frustrated, after paying a lot for my LTE version, now I am unable to connect using VPN. The same VPN works fine on my iPad, galaxy s2, my cheap android TV box, but not on my expensive Note Pro. Just yesterday I found received my Launch Edition package, after testing my case I found out that when the case is opened and flipped to the back, the magnetic side of the front cover touches the backside of the cover. As a result, the Note switches off - I have written to support but till now no response. Today I realized that VPN is not even possible even if it successfully connected. I have Kitkat version 4.4.2 and when I tried to update, it says there is no update available for my Note. Is it a Kitkat problem or galaxy note?

Has any one same problem or is it just me? Should I just send the trash back or what?

Please help.

I know your post is from 9 months ago, but I'm just getting my Note Pro today and wondering what device you're trying to connect to on the other end. This issue had me quite worried that my new tablet would have to be returned if I couldn't connect. This would have been a deal breaker for me. I must be able to connect remotely, it's the reason for the tablet in the first place. So, I just wanted to set the record straight for anyone else that might need a solid VPN connection on this device that is definitely made for getting work done.

I'm connecting to my network through a Cisco ASA device. I have used VPNcilla in the past with other devices with very good success. I then installed the Anyconnect license on the ASA which allowed me to connect with the IKEv1 default connection on my Note 4 and now with the Note Pro. This configuration is very fast to connect and works very well on my Verizon 4g connection.

You can easily fix your cover by placing a 1" square of steel cut from a jar lid in between the flap and the back of the tablet. Use a paper clip to find where the embedded magnet is. The problem is that the magnet is being wrongly sensed through the BACK of the tablet and thinks you have closed the flap.

I use Capsule (formerly CheckPoint) VPN and the 2XRDP remote desktop app to connect to my work pc from home with my Note Pro 12.2. Provides a more stable connection than any of my Windows computers.
