Hey everyone. Just want to know your opinions on why your heading to the S3 rather then Google's Flagship. Thanks!

I think both devices are outstanding. I pre ordered the S3 for the removable battery and charging port on the bottom. I know the charging port isn't a big deal to most but it just bothers me on the sides.

The GNex has both of those features, though I'm sure you went with the S III for more reasons.

Though I have the GNex and won't be getting the S III, I'm sure a lot of people are going with the S III because of the screen, camera, SD card slot, and internals (processor, RAM, etc).

The downside of the S III is TouchWiz (unless you like it) and the bloatware that carriers will probably put on it. Of course, you will eventually be able to root it and flash a custom ROM to get around those things.

4.8 in Screen, SD card slot, camera, 32 gb, 2gb ram, removable 2100 mAh Lithium Ion Battery and much, much more. :)

What's to compare?? Better screen, better hardware, better software, better camera, better... Should I keep going

On die LTE so one less chip to power hence more power efficient and larger battery means it should have significantly better battery life.

Gs3 has better, bigger screen, 2gb ram, better, faster hardware, better camera (still & video), up to 64gb SD card, free 50gb drop box and doesn't waste screen real estate with the stupid on screen buttons. Pretty much everything about it is better than the gnex.

The only drawback for me is that it requires Odin to root it.

SGII. I'm one who has always felt the SGII is a phenomenal phone. I've not experienced any negative issues with this phone as some others may have. To me, the specs make it a no brainer in terms of upgrading to the II's successor. If it somehow doesn't meet expectations, I can always return it.

The processor's not much faster. 1.2Ghz dual-core vs. 1.5Ghz dual-core. Remove the TouchWiz and bloatware a la Nexus, and you may not see a difference.

US versions of the SIII aren't getting dropbox.

The biggest beef is that the international versions of the SIII will be getting the quad-core processor, while Sprint and Verizon must make due with a dual-core processor that is only slightly faster than the Nexus'.

Can you provide a link to confirm this about the Dropbox thing? I had only heard that VZW and ATT weren't participating in the promotion...not Sprint.

Sure. Here's what I know:

Verizon, ATandT Not Offering 50GB Dropbox Offer for Samsung Galaxy S III - Mobile and Wireless - News & Reviews - eWeek.com

Sprint officially didn't comment. It's not listed on the device specs on the Sprint website, though, so they certainly aren't promising anything to those who pre-order.

Well hopefully Sprint will be unlike the other big 2 and throw a nice little bone our way. 50GB free would sure be incentive for me to upgrade my Evo4G.

Both dual core is the only thing you can say about the processors. GS3 is using 28nm qualcomm which is based off a15 instructions. It's night and day speed difference man. For you to say not much faster means you don't know what the hell you talking about.

The biggest beef with international and what we are getting is the gpu. They didn't give us quite the next gen gpu with this beast of a processor.

I thought I was choosing Google's new flagship... :p

Seriously though, the GS3 has mSD, newer processor w/ LTE integrated, better camera and dedicated buttons. All things that are important to me. Having more apps still available in memory with 2 GB is also something I will appreciate.

Finally, I think the GS3 looks better than the GN. The GN looks kinda plain to me.

Your dual core exynos processor is already a good amount faster than the omap chip on the galaxy nexus. The nexus had an outdated processor the moment it was announced which was why I skipped that phone when it launched on verizon because I would rather have a exynos powered GS2.

I think the biggest difference in daily use would be if the SGIII has decent radios (3G/wifi/GPS/LTE eventually) compared to the woes experienced while using the GNex. Software-wise, I'd prefer stock ICS to TouchWiz, but the GNex suffers a ton in daily use due to very limited wifi range, poor GPS pickups and weak 3G signals. Go read a few of the GNex forum posts on Sprint or Verizon and you'll get the sense that the GNex struggles in these areas. I certainly experienced it and returned it for EVO LTE, which has been stellar in my experience. Great signals and amazing battery life with the great screen. I don't think I'm willing to give it up in the next two days when my 14 days runs out and wait for another Sammy product, even though I'm betting the SGIII will be quite good. Sammy radios and my travel use...no thank you.

I have the gsm version of GNex and I don't see any issue with the signals. In fact, on a recent vacation, I was the only person in my group even able to get a signal (coverage in the area was spotty at best). In normal areas, my signal has been strong enough. Wifi has been strong as well.

Maybe the GSM version just has stronger radios but I'll have to disagree with you on that.

Galaxy S III is obviously the better phone but $200 better? GSIII is for the people that want the best but I still think the GNex is the better deal when factoring in the cost.

Going through sprint the gs3 is only $50 more than the gnex. That's a small price to pay for what you are getting.

It boils down to what software you want to run....really, they are both great. Does a S3=better? Nope. when are people going to pony up the time to educate themselves and make a choice based on those preferences rather than me telling you what YOU need? Silly.
