Galaxy S2 and Galaxy S3 charging port compatibility

Hi, I have a problem with charging port on my Galaxy S3 and I was wondering if it is possible to replace S3 charging port with Galaxy S2 charging port that I also have and that is functional, without harming my S3 phone.. I know how to replace them, but I do not know if the charging ports are compatible.
