Hiya,

I'm having problems with everything to do with internet connections on my Galaxy S2. When it initially stopped working four/five days ago (with no new downloads or change in habits etc) I managed to pull a sporatic few email syncs by playing with the airplane/data network modes, but not reliably. Turning off either data or wifi and trying to rely on the other doesn't make any change. A few apps managed some autodownloads once, but that connectivity disappeared in less than 20 minutes. It finds and registers my wifi and the strength of the network fine.

When I plugged into Kies (omg, that program was the bane of my weekend) there's a 'Notice: No response from server. Please check your internet connection is activated and try again.' Trying to force an update through Kies isn't getting me anywhere, because it can't see my phone properly (and I know I'm a few updates behind, because they've been crashing for a few months and I haven't bothered to deal with Kies).

No problems with calls/texts/picture messages. Honestly, I'd be more zen about being cut off from my mostly spammy emails if I could log in to my audible account, but even that is too much internet for my baby.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Ok few questions:
Who is your provider?
Did you hit your data cap?
Are you rooted or stock?

Oh and ya...Kies is the devil. On Mac it is the super-devil.

ಠ益ಠ

My provider is EE (T Mobile)
I've got a fair usage policy not a data cap (never been a problem for me before, EE don't say I've gone beyond anything), but the wifi problems would still be inexplicable.
I'm stock.

So I've been dealing with the super-devil all weekend? I knew I deserved that pudding.

Man I want to help you, but I really just don't get it. It is so odd that everything is working fine except data. My guess is maybe the radios are bugging out or defective. I think there are apps that can diagnose something like that, but you can't download any apps :(

I'm having similar problems.

I was taking a picture yesterday and my phone just shut off. I had to plug it in to get it to turn on again (even though it was at 48% battery life). Since then, the internet, data, sending/receiving text messages, alarm clocks, etc.. are not working. I don't know what to do.

Last year, my phone would shut off if I tried to send a text message or do almost anything. As it got worse, I nocied my battery had swollen so much the back cover was being pushed off. I replaced this with a new battery and it worked fine afterwords. But I'm not sure if the problem I am having now is related.

Sooo frustrating. If anyone knows how to fix this.. please help!

Same issue here. I'm able to connect to Wifi, get some initial data, and then after some few minutes, it just stops working. The pattern is similar for all Wifi spots. I'm assuming at this point a chip burned or something my Galaxy S2 is over 2 years old.
