I just bought a s20 and I'm loving the phone. Got a great deal at bestbuy ($800 unlocked) only thing I don't like is the battery. Any tips? I am running the 120hz feature and I'm not looking to turn it off to be honest. Any tips? Thanks.

Disable the Google app and whatever useless Google/Samsung services are running in the background.

And at least use dark mode if you're not gonna use it in 60Hz.

Forgive me but I'm kind of a Samsung noob. How do I go about this?

How long have you had your phone? Because you need to give a good 7 to 10 days to learn your habits and allow the battery to settle in. After which you should see some improvement.

There is also a trick you can do with Bixby to run 120Hz with medium power saving if you don't mind some trade off of running the medium power saving mode...

I have the unlocked version of the s20. I have had it for about 3 to 4 days. I also work from home so I use my phone during the week as a phone. Meaning I'm on the phone 3 to 6 hours a day. I can also readily get 5 to 6 hours of screen time during this use and I know it will only get better. I am running the bixby routine to have my phone at medium power but still run 120hz screen.

I had the s20 plus prior and with similar use I would get 7 to 8 hours of screen on time running the same bixby routine.

Give it time. You will like it, I'm sure of it.

Just curious. Why did you return the s20+?

Nothing was wrong with the s20 plus. I just really prefer smaller phones. I anticipate keeping the S20 for a few years and I'm on Verizon network so when they released the S20 with same 5g antennas as the plus, I had to jump on it.

exynos version here in uk is not great at all! Battery life is a joke barely getting 4.5hrs screen on my S20+, phone always hot and freezes up at times in apps. I'm very disappointed with my first Samsung and probably my last sadly

Have you thought maybe do factory reset or put in safe mode see if it still gets hot , sometimes rouge app can cause this.

I have the Exynos version over here in Ireland .

I'm not entirely convinced by the battery, I have it about 3 weeks now.....but it does seem to be improving.
