Galaxy S21 Google Calendar doesn't sync to Windows 10 desktop

I have an odd one-way issue with Google Calendar. I can enter an event on my desktop and it shows up on my phone no problem. However, if I enter an event on my phone, it does not show up on my desktop! This used to work, so I'm thinking it has something to do with my fairly new Galaxy S21. I've been all over the settings and can't find anything that looks like it would change the behavior.

What am I missing?

When creating an event on your phone, check the Calendar location the event is being created to. Chances are you are saving it locally or to a different account. Sync intervals might also make the Win calendar update take longer.

Well..., you're right! I had it configured to allow changes across calendars, but apparently that is a one-way street!

Thanks, that was way easier than I thought!

Well, while I know what is happening, I still don't know how to fix it. I have two gmail accounts on my phone, and I can't seem to convince the calendar to only use one of them! It always picks the wrong one as the primary. I even deleted the calendar app and the second email from the phone and re-entered it, and it still insists on using the wrong one! How do you beat the calendar into submission?

There is no way to set a 'default' calendar location on Samsung Calendar apps, I'm afraid. In theory, however, it should use whatever calendar account was last used to create an event.

Wrap your Samsung in a towel and use a big hammer to beat it till it submits, then buy a Pixel.
That should fix it :p

Well, I found out why the calendar doesn't sync, and a clumsy work-around. I'd still like to find out how to default the functionality.

Turns out that there is a "My Calendar" that is not shared by the phone, and then you can have calendars linked to gmail addresses that are synced with any calendar that uses the same address. Great, if every time I enter a new event I remember to click and change the account from My Calendar, it works fine. The obvious question is: Why the hell can't you just default the account to the desired gmail account!

This is what I see for accounts, and I see no way to change the default from My Calendar to one of my gmail addresses. Am I just being dense or is it really not possible?
