Galaxy S22 heat issues

mine was getting quite warm, but it was mostly my fault. I run my processor on high and often have a fairly bright screen (sunglasses). however, the real culprit was using an Otterbox Defender case, combined with working in a warm - to - hot environment. it just couldn't cool down. once I returned to a Symmetry case, I've had no issues.

Why do you run your processor on high?

for the reasons outlined in the High processing speed setting
I should have been more precise in my question.... What is it that you're doing that is notably faster and worth the extra battery drain of running in High. Since this setting doesn't benefit gaming, I'm wondering what else would make it worth it...worth the battery loss.

The extra battery loss is not a practical concern of mine. In my work (construction and logistics) I spend a great deal of time behind the wheel. I probably spend half my day plugged into a charger. I have the Protect Battery toggled on to try and extend the battery's life. I do not game, as you properly speculated. There was a time where I was noticing some of the apps and programs that I use either opening slower than normal, or processing similarly. That can, obviously, be a function of the phone being too hot or too cold. Regardless, I'm impatient, and this setting does sometimes help. ;)

Trying not to get off topic but... you have the 128GB phone with 8GB RAM or the larger phones (256+) with 12GB RAM? If apps opening/processing slower than normal and if have lots of apps open at same time, maybe increase your RAM Plus from 4GB and use more storage memory to like 6-8GB so that it will keep open apps in memory in background??

I don't know your region but install from the Galaxy Store the Samsung Good Guardians app. It's able to monitor its temperature.
Also is this the basic model you talk about? On my S22 Ultra Exynos(without power saving mode) it heats up too a lot but I never received the message it's almost overcooked.
But when I should film in 8K or UHD60 then it heats up a lot, which is pretty normal too

CPU Monitor in the Google Play Store is also a good one to monitor your device over the X amount of hours, decent graphs
