Hello,

I really want to root my Galaxy S3 and install CyanogenMod 10.1 on it, but three things are holding me back from doing it.

1: I'm scared I'll brick my phone. This phone is pretty new, i got it in March, and my dad would kill me if I bricked it.
2: I can only find instructions for rooting on a windows PC, i have a Mac,
3:the instructions look really complicated, I probably won't know what I'm doing.

Can anyone help me out here?

1: I was the same way, but you'll get over it.
2: I too have a Mac. Go to "utilities", and you will see a program called BootCamp. You can partition your hard drive, or have Apple do it for you, and then install Windows7. I did it myself, and i'm no I.T.
3: Just read the instructions slowly and carefully. I used "Skunkape60's" guide to root. It's in this forum under Rooting, Roms & Hacks.

There is no need to rush this. Take your time, please. There are people in this forum, who are a lot more experienced than i, so don't be afraid to ask for help. What you will end up with, is a super fast, fully customizable piece of technology. Good luck.:)

A soft brick is never a big deal. There are many ways to unbrick a phone, and for these especially ODIN back to Stock is simple (with a Windows setup). As for hard brick, it is extremely hard to do this, and it's still not always a lost cause.
