Galaxy S3 Buyers remorse??

This is my second Android phone, the first being an HTC Inspire 4g. For being a 2 year old discount phone that I put through hell and back, it kept on going strong while my brother stole our family's upgrade to replace his broken iPhones twice. So needless to say I'm a satisfied Android owner and was ready to upgrade.

Last night I bought the Galaxy S3. I did a lot of research prior to its release, but didn't know the US version only had a dual core processor until I brought it home last night. The quad core was the main reason I bought it over the One X, whose design I preferred. Now I'm starting to wish I had the One X instead. I can still exchange it at Best Buy for 30 days I think.

I prefer Sense over TouchWiz, and I hear mixed opinions on which has a better display and camera, both very important to me. And does Beats audio really make a difference? I don't like the glossy plastic on the Samsung as much as the matte One x. I think the S3 does have more RAM though. And a kid was exchanging his One X for an S3 as I was buying mine because his kept restarting randomly. And I hear the one x has poor battery life

I just want some feedback as to whether I should switch them out, or some reassurance that the s3 is the better choice:). Thanks everyone!

I would give the GS3 a good 7-10 try out at least before jumping the gun on your decision. Both the One X and the GS3 are very close in specs.

My own opinion coming from the original Galaxy S line and now my wife has the SG3 its a huge leap in technology and styling since only two years ago... Both as I said, HTC & Sammy have done a very nice job and I really believe it comes down to personal preference.. Are you an HTC fan or Samsung fan.. ? The finish on the devices if your one that likes to roll naked (no case) well ya the GS3 can be a bit irritating due to the fingerprints but heck a little quick wipe and its clean. Camera and video specs are very close, probably the biggest stand out points is removable battery verses non removable and then memory options. I've seen both phones and the pentile display on the GS3 that so many based their arguments on in the early stages is not an issue in my book, the GS3 has a beautiful display just as the HTC does.

Sense vs Touchwiz.. Sense's new design seems to be a big hit with many. I'm a TW fan, I like Sense but I learned on TW so its natural for me. From rumors being thrown around with the upcoming JellyBean OS update this is going to give OEM's like Sammy & HTC a chance to once again "tweak" their UI overlays (Sense/TW/Blur,etc) and it sounds like Sammy has done some further updating to their TW so that might be something else to consider. I'm sure HTC will have some tweaks of their own.

Again, if you have the 30 day exchange with Best Buy then give it a fair 7-10 day test drive before you swap out so you can satisfy your own curiosities that you are getting the device that is best for you.

Yeah I am an HTC fan and prefer Sense over any other UI I've used. But can the battery last a whole day on a One X? My GS3 seems to be doing fine, but I've heared mixed reviews on the One X

I've not had a problem getting through full day with my HOX. After 12hr I usually had 20-30% battery left on heavy browser use days. I recently installed Juice Defender to give a little more battery buffer and don't get below 40% even on my heavy use days usually end up closer to 50%.

Best Buy is generally good with their return policy. If after a few days of using the device you feel that it is not for you take it back. Call Best Buy to confirm their return policy, which may not be 30-days for this device (maybe 15).

It won't hurt to give it a few days before abandoning it.

I also have their accident protection warranty, since I cracked my last screen and want to go naked with these phones, so I think that gives me a little more leeway with returns. So far I love the phone, and wont regret either purchase, but I think the HTC is more 'me'. I'll give it another week or so.

Agreed. No reason to jump the gun. You should know if you like it enough in 10 days.

probably the biggest stand out points is removable battery verses non removable and then memory options.

This is a huge selling point for me. I like that I can do a battery pull if needed. And, I have three extra batteries for long trips out hiking (GPS, camera, internet, etc).

Been completely satisfied with my One X. Battery life is great, easily lasting an entire day.

The screen on the One X is better. Having seen them both side by side it's not even close.

Camera is a trade. Samsung has less compression, better video, but HTC is more accurate with colors. Both are fine for social media sharing.

Expandable storage is a personal preference. I don't need I because I'm on wifi all the time, so cloud storage works for me.

I think I will be keeping the GS3. I've read about the HOX crashing a lot, and the GS3's 2 gb RAM seems to help a lot with multitasking. Also Bloomington, IN has LTE, which is nearly instantaneous! I also hear on LTE networks, the HOX doesn't last so long. But I use the GS3 all day and never get a low battery warning. But when I play with my friend's HOX, I like the UI and design wayyy better, and her camera and screen are definitely better.
