Hi all,
[Edit] Nevermind, phone broken. Will look to buy new phone.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 (non-carrier), and the touch screen digitizer stopped working, though was working fine yesterday. Not long ago, I did notice the screen was ghost tapping, where it was detecting presses but no-one was pressing. I turned phone off-on, and it worked fine. Figured it was a bug, though nothing works now.
I managed to backup the phone via Samsung Smart-Switch, then did a reset by booting into recovery (hold pwr +- vol up +- home), and resetting. Once reset, it still wouldn't work. I stripped the phone down, cleaned the board with IPA then got a think piece of metal and ran between the glass and plastic border (found tip online), then reconnected everything, and it worked!...for a couple of minutes. After setting phone back up, and started restoring backup, it stopped responding again :/.
Any ideas? I know it's an old phone, but if it could be something simple, and I can get it working, it would save me a little time to save for a new phone.
Phone wasn't dropped prior to the issue either.
