Galaxy S3 Messaging stops working

I live in New Zealand, but I'm hoping I can get some help on this issue on this forum too.

So this has happened quite consistently, maybe up to 3 times a day, for the past month or so.
Every now and then, a message I send will not send and be forever stuck on "Sending..."
Eventually after some muddling around (such as sending myself a text, backing in and out of the app or threads) I end up at the messaging default screen where the threads usually show, however it comes up with no messages as you can see below.

It's an easy fix and I just simply restart my phone and it works again, but I'm wondering why this happens? I did a factory reset yesterday too so I have no idea what is wrong. It is the stock app by the way, and my messages delete after 200.

Any help is much appreciated!

A lot of views but no solutions! Haha that's okay.

I also posted on the Vodafone Community site for New Zealand, and it turns out it could possibly be the application Viber interfering with the phone. Which is odd and quite annoying so I do hope there is a fix for this.

Jerry,
You can try booting into Safe mode and see if the same problem occurs. If it doesn't then it's some 3rd party app that you've installed (perhaps Viber; perhaps not).
