Galaxy S3 Mini - backup question

I am looking at rooting my phone & am stuck when it comes to backing up the device.
i have done a back up using samsung kies, but is this enough or do i need to backup another way?

Historically when rooting Samsung devices you don't lose your data, etc during the rooting process. This may have changed with the newest devices but not that I'm aware of.

You can use Helium from the Play Store as another source of backup. No rooting is required and it will backup your app/data.
