Galaxy S3 Mini..battery drain problem :(

Re: S3 Mini..battery drain problem :(

I had this problem, almost the same with you ..
I like to say something interesting for any Samsung Device that his version is near version of Galaxy S3 mini .

OK -- There are some ways that i have tested for a long time ...

Step 1.Go to the "Settings"
Step 2.On the bottom click "Developer Options' (Turn it "On")
Step 3.Again go te the bottom and click "Limit backrounds processes" (opens a list) and at the 2nd words of list click "No backrounds processes"
Step 4.Under "Limit backrounds processes" you see "Show all ANRs" click in it to active ...

Thank you that have read my answer ....

Re: S3 Mini..battery drain problem :(

For the Samsung Galexy S3 mini, I've found that the LTE is a huge battery drain! I don't use data on my phone so there is no need to have LTE on. My battery use to last 17 hours before I turned off LTE. Now the battery lasts more then 36 hours. To turn off LTE, go into your Settings and under Connections choose more networks. Choose Mobile Networks and then Network Mode. I use WCDMA network were i live but you will need to find out what network works for you. Just remember that LTE will be off so if you use data, turn on LTE to get the fast data connection. Texting and phone wont work if you choose the wrong network so test your phone after you switch to make sure you selected the correct network. North America mostly uses WCDMA while the rest of the World uses GSM. Hope this helps.

Same problem right here! I have to recharge my phone 3-4 times a day, even though I barely use it and I'm using the deep sleep battery saver. Is it just a calibration problem or is the battery dead?
Also the recharge time became very short as well (+- 30 mn)

Thank you for any help!

Hi, we have two of these phones and have the same issue. Very annoying.
Would be great to find solution. Phones has been in use since nov 2012, so a few months over a year.

I found this one, gotta check those batteries when I can get my hand on them:

Same problem.
I don't know... but maybe an update is causing the problem, because I remember update the Samsung Push Service a few days ago, and my problem with the battery just begin.

Re: S3 Mini..battery drain problem :(

Dear ..... I have had the same exact problem, I did everything that was suggested by many resources on the internet but did not work. It turned out the the battery is what causing the bootloop issue. I invested in a new battery and I have my S3 mini working perfectly fine again.

48 hours of internet search did not do it, a new battery for US$ 20 solved the problem.

Best of luck.

George,
Glad you found a solution to your problem; however, I doubt that will be the cause in most cases.

Welcome to the forums, and thanks for posting what worked for you!

I have the same issue since about a week or two. Since it seems to have started for all of us fairly recently I would suspect an uppdate.
My impression is that it usually starts with the reboots when the GPS is being used. However it's not 100% limited to that.

Re: S3 Mini..battery drain problem :(

To everyone saying their phone restarts when battery is below 50%,check your battery for swelling. I have the same issue and my battery is slightly swollen. Will have to replace it.

I've been experiencing the same problem with my S3 Mini recently, had alarming battery drain after charge when for example it dropped to 17% in the morning from 100% full charge the previous night! Installed various apps to monitor battery consumption, app killers, wakelock etc to try and remedy the problem, however to no joy. Instead I found online that by double hitting the menu button and removing running apps had reversed my battery drain completely and now the battery is staying at normal consumption levels.

That's not a very good long term solution. You could try booting into Safe mode http://support.verizonwireless.com/support/devices/knowledge_base.html/59242 and running that way for awhile - if you don't see any battery issues then you know that it's a 3rd party app.

I just did a Factory Reset and have been careful loading apps and my problem went away. YMMV.

We have had the same issue with two SIII minis.
Tried all kind of tricks found from the internet (well, not that press menu twice and so on...).

First one had clearly bad battery: it span like a spinning top/gyroscope due swelling.
Second one also spun quite well.

First one has now new battery and battery life is normal again. Second one has new battery on it's way.

Re: S3 Mini..battery drain problem :(

I'm having the same problem, it was restarting continuously for awhile, but a factory reset fixed it, now it will be around 50% restart, come back to somewhere below 5% but as soon as i plug it in the battery jumps back up

disable wifi direct in the aplication manager...as well as unused apps...i got 3 days on standby...with a few phone calls..

I have the same problem with my samsung S3 mini. The last few days it has been driving me crazy. First it started to randomly restart, then this. I charge it until full, when I diconnect the charger cable from it, it is suddenly 74%. Then it switches off randomly some other time and when I switch it on again it is 2, 3 or even 1% charged.

I was thinking of buying a new battery, what do you all think? Would that be a good idea? Because I'm aware that the problem might not be 100% from the battery..
