Galaxy s3 not getting iphone texts

As a lifelong mac/iphone user, i decided to give android a try. I got a galaxy s3 from a friend and it so happens that i cannot receive texts from anyone who owns and iphone. I have tried searching online, and there are tons of supposed fixes, none of which have worked for me.

Does anyone have any clue on how to fix this issue???? Normally when i have mac/iphone issues i find a quick fix online but, with this thing there is no certainty. Some people have done one thing that works but it hasn't for other people, none of the ones i have tried have worked for me. I tried turning imessage off on all my apple devices and that hasn't worked either. Please answer me at diego dot deleon at g mail dot com.

Unfortunately there's no easy fix when it comes to iMessage. The easiest fix is to turn it off and de-register your number from your iDevice BEFORE you migrate to another one.

As far as getting SMS, you can ask your contacts to turn off iMessage and send SMS only...but that kinda defeats the purpose of using iMessage with iDevices.
