Galaxy S3 screen crazed black and white zigzag

My Galaxy S3 froze. At restart frozen on start up screen. Hadvto remove battery to turn off. After many trials kept stopping on start screen. Tried to go into recovery, ended up with Download ...Do not turn off target. After no action had to remove battery to turn off. Now on restart get black and white horizontal zig zag lines and cannot get any action from phone. Hold power button and turns on and off repeatedly on zig zag screen. Any help please?

Have you tried booting in to safe mode? I could not find the info here at AC, BUT our friends at XDA Developers had a thread on it. I would try safe mode, and IF it starts up try deleting the last app you installed AND as a worstcase try doing a factory reset.

Tried both already but screen just goes on and off with the same pattern. I suspect the screen driver is corrupted somehow... If anyone has had same problem and found a solution or means to reload software/screen driver would appreciate it.
