Galaxy S4 Active : Poor camera. No superfine ?

I have the galaxy s2 LTE i727r and I have the galaxy s4 i537 active. The s2 LTE has a great camera with lots of functions and now that I've switched to the s4 active I noticed that it doesn't have the option for super fine and some of the other options the previous camera phones have had. Any one else noticed this? it seems like the pictures are a little sub par considering how new the phone is.

Yes. It was stated in the advertising that they had to compromise some things in order to make it waterproof. The camera has 8MP as opposed to the S4's 13MP. The biggest decision between getting the active or the S4 was do you want a better screen and camera or do you want the waterproof? The s4's camera is phenomenal. The Active's camera is better than any phone I have ever had so I am fine with that.

No that's the problem, is that I had the S2 Skyrocket, and I am also comparing to an IPhone and still find the S4 active sub par . . . anyone else found this?

So, what I am wondering is if there is a way to get a better picture ?

Maybe I just got really really lucky with the Skyrocket's camera . . . I always took 3.2 MP pics , about 500 - 1 meg in size, and the resolution and clarity was phenomenal . . . I must admit it was better than any previous phone (and actually better than this phone to IMHO). I'm just looking for someone to tell me I'm not crazy and yes, the camera is crappier.

You think there is a way to add "superfine" to the camera? Or do you think a firmware / software upgrade will fix the camera ?

No you're not crazy, lol. Like they say, there is an app for everything, although I don't know what it would be at this moment...

Ya, and I've now purchased an S4 i337m . . . . no Superfine ?!

So did they do away with some of the camera options in 4.2 ?

The camera seems better than the s2 however, just not with as many options.

I also own a gs4 active and a gs2 skyrocket the actives camera eats the gs2 camera for lunch as to be expected much faster shutter much better color reproduction they may have removed some little things here and there but look at all the new shooting modes u get on gs4 active I dont miss my skyrockets camera one bit also recording video on the skyrocket i was always having issues with the auto focus gs4 does 1080p video recording so much smoother

Wow. Other end of the spectrum.

I was saying the s2 beat the s4 / active.

I will however admit the video is much better and it does have more shooting modes. ... How ever I'm not one for editing pictures on a phone so it's no real bonus for me.
